World Centric would like provide further detail about a tree planting project funded through Seattle-based People for Progress in India (PPI).

Please take a look at the chart below to view planting details and survival rates from our two-year tree-planting campaign in
Tarikere, India. The project began in 2010 with the goal of reducing carbon emissions and creating a greener environment in three villages located in Tarikere's Duglapura cluster.

All of us at World Centric look forward to supporting future projects like this one. It is our goal to invest directly in community-based organizations, indigenous federations and small NGOs that are working to educate their communities and to protect their local environments.
A minimum of 25% of World Centric's annual profits are donated to grassroots social or environmental organizations. Visit our Sustainability page for more info.

Sign the petition opposing the approval of Genetically Engineered fish!

On December 21, 2012, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) released an Environmental Assessment (EA) with a “Finding of No Significant Impact” on the controversial AquaBounty AquaAdvantage transgenic salmon.

Any approval of GE salmon could represent a serious threat to the survival of native salmon populations, many of which have already suffered severe declines related to salmon farms and other man-made impacts.

Research published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences notes that a release of just sixty GE salmon into a wild population of 60,000 could lead to the extinction of the wild population in less than 40 fish generations.  Wild salmon populations are already on the Endangered Species List.

Sign the petition here. To learn more about GE fish, including their potential threat to human health, please visit the Center for Food Safety website.
