Director of Operations

Reports to the CEO

Job Description

  • Responsible for effective and efficient functioning of overall company processes and tasks.

  • Evaluate and optimize processes and functions related to customer service, account management, order management, procurement, logistics, warehousing, sales operations etc.

  • Define best implementation strategies in Netsuite for optimized processes (forms, workflow and other customization)

  • Work with sales, finance, marketing, supply chain and other departments to meet their operational needs.

  • Define and be responsible for dashboards, KPIs & metrics for different departments - sales, supply chain, account management etc.

  • Define, elicit business intelligence needs/metrics and drive implementation of BI strategies/analytics.

  • Recommend IT/software systems, vendors for collaboration, security, backup, IT, phones, logistics, shipping, order management, data integrity, demand planning, business intelligence, EDI etc. to streamline current operational workflow.

  • Ensure strong execution of the overall e-commerce strategy, integration with Netsuite Advanced Suitecommerce for best of shopping cart user experience, robust analytics, international shipping etc.

  • Continuously improve processes for higher productivity and efficiency in supply chain, logistics, accounting, sales and customer service.


Knowledge and Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in a hands-on operations role.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science) preferred.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills.

  • Experience in evaluating technology requirements and optimizing processes related to supply chain, logistics, order management, warehousing etc.

  • Thorough understanding of Procure to Pay and Cash to Order process cycle.

  • Demonstrated experience in business process design, mapping and optimization.

  • Experience in defining and implementation of BI needs.

  • Experience in creating and implementing best customer service practices and processes

  • Strong organizational, project management and time management skills

  • Strong analytical skills, experience with ERP (specifically Net Suite), CRM, accounting, inventory and order management systems.

  • Excel expert.

  • Experience in distribution, food service, packaging, consumer non-durables or plastics industries highly desired.

  • Manufacturing background/experience a big plus.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

This is a hands-on position where you will be joining a small team of engineers and scientists focused on developing and scaling the world’s next generation of compostable materials and end products.  You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team to design experiments, create testing fixtures, and prototype pilot scale machines and processes dedicated to the creation of new compostable, disposable products. You will design and build manufacturing processes for taking ideas from lab to pilot or production scale. The position will be initially based in Albany, CA.

Communications Coordinator

Reports to the VP of Marketing

About the Position

Functioning as part of the marketing team, this role will participate in public relations activities, develop content for our digital marketing programs and other communications and coordinate trade show participation. The overall intent of this role is to help raise brand awareness, trial and re/use of the products and advocate for global sustainability practices.

The person hired for this position will need strong organization and critical thinking skills and must be extremely self-motivated. The ideal candidate will have a background or major in journalism, videography, photography or public relations, and have a desire to work in online platforms. Ideal candidates will also have experience using a high quality video equipment and video editing programs.
